"Life could have flourished [on Mars] then. But Mars did not choose life. It chose this. It's called chaotic terrain." - Dr. Manhattan, Watchmen #9
Welcome to this blog, dedicated to the boardgame 'Terraforming Mars' (2016, Fryx Games) which has become by far the most popular game played at home between me, the eponymous 'Dr Manhattan' and let's say my own 'Silk Spectre'.
I'm not sure whether I have any grand ambitions, other than occasionally sharing some thoughts and comments on the game, but I wanted to have a place to collect this, as well as dig into a little bit of critique and discussion of the game, as well as the vast amount of fan-based material that has been created by fellow enthusiasts since the game was published.
I'm hoping to share a little bit of science discussion, via published articles and ideas related to the concept of Terraforming Mars, and try to flesh out some custom cards of my own with the help of feedback from some of the community hubs, which I'll of course list here in due course.
I guess things will come slightly haphazardly in the beginning, but if it continues to be fun for me to write, I'll try to keep going and maybe at some point there'll be a bit more coherent organization of content. I do want to start with a review of some of the custom corporations which have been created by fans of the game, so look for that pretty soon.
For now, I guess this will be of little interest for anyone who doesn't know what the game Terraforming Mars is, but I'll try to post an introduction to the game, its concepts, its history and maybe even invite a few interviews from the designers, and well known players of the game, and various content creators related to the game.
